Safety Guidelines
Version:
Approval means a person looked at a profile. It does not mean anyone is safe. These habits protect you on the island.
Meeting someone new
- Meet in a public place first, and tell a friend where you are going and with whom.
- Get there and back on your own terms. Know how you will get home before you go.
- Keep your phone charged and your location shared with someone you trust.
At parties
- Go with friends and leave with friends. Agree on a meeting point.
- Watch your drink. Do not accept drinks you did not see poured.
- Drugs are illegal in our destinations and penalties are severe (in Thailand among the harshest in the region). Substances sold at parties are often not what they claim to be.
- Motorbike accidents are the most common serious injury on the islands. Do not ride after drinking, and wear a helmet.
Online
- Entry to a party is paid to the host at the party. Never send money to a member in advance, whatever the story.
- Stay on KAA until you trust someone. Block and report anyone who pressures you.
Emergency numbers
The red Emergency button in the app (on the Island tab, in your Profile, and on the lock screen of the iPhone app) calls these numbers with one tap, shows where you are so you can tell the dispatcher, and shows the nearest hospital. KAA is not an emergency service. Always call the local numbers.
Use the numbers of the country you are in. We add each country's numbers here before a destination there opens.
Thailand
